Welcome everyone back to the new and improved theiphoneproject.  We have had several advancements in our layout, downloads sections, and guides.  The key enhancement is our layout - it is much less cluttered and easier to find things.  We have also (thanks to iphone-dev team) switched over to IntenseDebate’s amazing commenting system.  It is implemented all across the board - so anything you feel the need to comment on, please do.  We love to read any and all feedback regarding our content and how to improve it.

Key changes

  • Downloads are vastly improved.  We now have categories - linking to unlocking software, bootloaders, and firmware files.  We have added release dates for every single iPhone firmware.  We also have descriptions on each file and they link to the proper guide (if applicable).  There are many notes in the downloads section.  Please note this:  we do not reccomend downgrading past 2.0.  All of our guides are updated and we are continuing to update them everyday.
  • Guides have been updated.  We also used IntenseDebate for commenting on our guides.  It really adds a personal feel to the system.  Hopefully everyone can take advantage of this and we will be able to have the best damn iPhone source on the net!  The actual “Guide” link at the top leads you to a page where you can select your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) and then select your device - and then we will list our guides.  We are still working on the best scenarios for this section.  Any feedback is welcome.
  • Style - we simplified everything.  Joomla is no more.  We apologize for the inconvenience if it’s what you liked, but we truly believe our new user interface is simple and straight to the point.

Thank you all for the continued support.  We look forward to hearing feedback and improving our site to suite your needs.
